Student success statement
‘’start with what is right rather than what is acceptable.’’

I think that this means that do something that is right first because it is more important than doing something that is acceptable. Because if you do something that is right you can only do it once but if you do what is acceptable you can do it any other time. So it is more important to start off with what is important. For example if you want to do something is either now or never but if it is something acceptable you can do it any other time you have lots of time.

Although very few students love homework it does serve purpose. Homework helps you:
• Reinforce what you’ve learned during the day.
• Build study habits that are essential in college.
• Prepare for your classes
• Get a sense of progress. Here are some tips to help you deal with homework efficiently and effectively. Set the mood Create a good study area with everything you need (for example a calculator) if you don’t have a quiet place at home. Try your school or local library. Know where to begin Make a list of everything you need to do and not all deadlines. Do the more difficult assignments first so you don’t have to face them at the end. Study at the same time every day Even if you don’t have homework every night use the time to review notes. If sitting down to work is part of your normal routine, you’ll approach it with less dread. Also you become pro at using time productively. Choose the right!

          Note taking strategies part 2
During class
One approach that has been proven effective is called the Cornell not taking system. Here are some of its methods. Start by using the main section of your page to take down your notes during class. Be sure to leave space on the left side of the page and the bottom. Things to keep in mind:
1.       Get the speakers main point. Don’t write down every word you hear.
2.       Leave blanks in your notes to add explanations later.
3.       Organize as you write. Pay attention to cues such as repetition and emphasis.
4.       Indicate main and supporting points as you go.
5.       Jot down key vocabulary, important facts and formulas.
Ask questions if you’re confused it’s better to ask while the material is fresh in your mind.

Distance education is a virtual classroom for you? Part 2
              Positive aspects of distance education

·         Independence and time management. Taking courses online lets you hone your ability to work on your own. You also gain experience in managing your time efficiently.
·         A flexible schedule. School can only provide a certain number of class periods in a single school day, and there may not be enough time for you to take everything you want. Because distance education lets you take everything you want. Because distance education lets you take classes outside regular school hours, it gives you the flexibility to explore all your Ares of interest
·         Advanced and specialized classes. Some schools can’t provide advanced or special classes. Distance education gives you the chance to gain experience in areas that would otherwise remain out reach.

Balancing high school and part time work part 5
Additional tips
Although working and going to school is challenging it can be rewarding experience if you use some foresight. The tips can help you handle the situation and make the most of your time:
Discuss your plans with your family. Balancing the demands of school and work is easier with their support.
Start slowly don’t commit to working a lot of hours immediately
Avoid time conflicts are by planning your class and work schedules as far ahead of time impossible.

If your job has a lot of downtime and your boss has no objection you can use slow periods to do schoolwork. If you commute to your job on public transportation bring your school work with you so you can work along way.
Be flexible and willing to make sacrifices you may have to cut down on some other things you like to do because of your school and work commitments.
If you have too much on your plate admit it. Then cut back as needed.
Schedule relaxation time. Everyone needs some downtime to stay happy and healthy.

Marion jones Olympic cheater

What she did is that she chooses the wrong. She was a wealthy human with a good future. She had goals to achieve and she did but then she choose the wrong and that ended her career. She lied to people she knew and people that tried to help her be better. She took steroids just to be better. To be better you need to practice every day not cheat your way in it.

Balancing high school and part time work part 4
He reminds students that the activities and courses students choose vary considerably so it’s important for you people too keep their individual situations clearly mind.’’ McGowan continues, ‘’for example, students actors should allow for the fact that they won't have as much time during performance seasons. Student athletes need to remember the times of the year that they'll be tied up with games and practices. Other students who are in classes that make considerable demands outside of the classroom must keep that reality in mind.

Ti's the set of the sail
Ella wheeler Wilcox 1916
But to every mine there opened
A way and a way and away
A high soul climbs the highway
And the low soul gropes the low
And in between on the misty flats
The rest drift to and fro.

But to every man there opened
A high way and a low
And every mind decided
The way his soul shall go
one ship sails east and another west
by the self-same winds that blow,
tis the set of sails and not the gales that tells the way we go.
like the winds of the sea
are the waves of time as we journey along through life
tis the set of the soul
that determines the goal and not calm the strife.

                 The power of study groups
                                                        Part 1

Working together helps everyone
you may have noticed that when your explaining something you have learned to a friend you begin to a friend you begin to understand it better yourself .this happens because when you explain an idea you need to think more deeply about it
The sample principle makes study groups useful studying with others in a small group is helpful because you:
Think out loud
Share ideas
Learn from another
in an effective study group you and other students hash out lesson materials together  explaining concepts arguing about them figuring out why one person’s answer differs from another’s and in the process you most likely learn more than you would have studying by yourself.

how to make on college studying
                            http:/www.collegeboard.com/student/plan/college-success/961.html.
                                                                        part 1
develop good study habits
in college you will need to build on the study skills that you learned in high school. the demands of a college class are probably more rigorous than those you are used to. you can succeed by knowing what to expect and how to handle it.

think of college as a full time job in which you spend 40 hours a week on a class labs study groups and doing homework.

being organized and using your time well are essential. learn more about time managment and use the guidelines below to develop your study skills.
 decide when to stud
work out about how many hours you need to study everyday. then make a schedule.
figure out what blocks of time you have available throughout  the day in the evenings and on the weekends.

consider what time of day you are most alert there are morning people and night owls and try to schedule your studying accordingly.

think about whether you do better studying for a few hours at a time or sitting down for marathon sessions.

                         Successful students 9
9… don’t cram for exams. Successful students know what divided periods of study are more effective then cram sessions and they practice it.
If there is one thing that study skills specialists agree on it is that disturbed study better than massed late night last ditch efforts known as cramming. You will earn more remember more, and earn higher grade by studying in four, one hour a night sessions Friday exam than studying in for four hours straight on Thursday night. Short, concentrated preparatory efforts are more efficient and rewarding than wasteful inattentive last moment marathons. Yet, so many students fail to learn thistledown and end up repeating it over and over again until it becomes a wasteful habit. Not too clever huh?

When you cram you are taking the shortcut and shortcuts never produce any real worthwhile results. Also, when you take shortcuts you feel rather rotten knowing that you could have done better but didn’t. Shortcuts cut you short. You can’t plant watermelon seeds and harvest fresh watermelons the next day. It takes time. Cramming for a test project and expecting to make a high score the next day is like planting watermelon the next day. Plus cramming for a test or project doesn’t help you academically so why even does it, plan ahead prepare ahead give yourself plant of days and weeks to prepare for upcoming accountability opportunities.

                                                          Effective study methods
My time management secret: my secret is to use time wisely. I know that one certain day I do not have time to run errands or hang out with friends even. Each minute of the day is used for something. One thing that works really well former is to write everything down. I mean everything. I write down if imaging toenail people. Write letters or study.it works format have a planner that goes by the day and shows me what I am going to be doing every day. Knowing what I have to do every day helpsmeplan out my week and my days. If I know that I don’t have time on Tuesday. I will try to get more things done on Monday or Sunday. I plan ahead especially if am going to be on the road for volleyball. When I am on the road, I bring my books and read on the bus/plane/hotel room. Missing classis killer it make up from. But if you upfront with your professors they are usually nice about having to turn things in later not being in classes.
